Isaiah 55 (delayed posting)

Tonight (1/30/21) as I was running I saw this and had to get closer to take a picture.

Almost immediately after I paused my watch I got an alert and it was a reminder for the verse of the day, which was Isaiah 55. This was one of the verses that God would bring me to all the time when I first started in my relationship with Him. I remember it striking me at first and then after the 4th month of Him bringing me to it I’d start to ask, “Really?”. It’s funny to me how even years later this kind of obscure scripture can still be pressing on me, growing me, and blowing my mind in new ways.

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; and you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you — The sure mercies of David.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:1–3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When You first shared this with me I remember reading it and knowing that you understood the deep spiritual starvation I had. You knew that when I read this verse I’d ask, “You mean me?… You mean, You know how empty I felt for so long? You know and You want to make me full again?”

And not only that, but You knew that as I continued to look and meditate on these verses that I’d feel this way.

God, You are so good.

It’s hard to type out. There aren’t words that come close to express that caving in my chest, almost like a sob, feeling — along with the deepest truest gratitude I have when I think of how You show me again and again that You are really here, and always have been.. That You hear me, and always have.. That You see me, and always have.. That You love me beyond any love that I could ever fully comprehend, and nothing will ever change that.. That You thought of me and had plans for me before You even put stars in the sky. Again and again You show me that you always have and You always will.

God, You are so good.
